Dark Arcadia is a micronation I run. Instead of the subject of micronations being a hobby as it tends to be for most people, Dark Arcadia is a project I take to heart. While we do have a forum, that is not our main tie - like any real nation, political activity is not required to partake in the project as a whole.
Still, on the long run, some of that will be necessary, as Dark Arcadia is a very real social experiment. My fellow citizens and I share a fascination with the concept of meritocracy, and are willing to face the challenge of trying to maintain such a political structure within our ranks.
We are currently not interested in 'immigrants' to our virtual nation, but if you find a burning desire to know more, you're of course welcome to contact me and ask. Simply because we are not searching does not mean that we are not accepting - though we are deliberately selective in actual admittance to citizenship - much less secretive.
Note: By chance, the nation currently consists only of moderators and retired moderators of a specific gaming forum. To leave it up to their discretion to mention their involvement in the project, our citizens are always listed by the name they have chosen for themselves in Dark Arcadian contexts, and said forum will not be named, though the more attentive amongst you will no doubt have figured it out already.
Suffice to say that these people are very special, and I am proud to be their archon.
This is yet another one of countless tributes to my deity. In his early days, he created a song containing the words "Et In Arcadia Ego", a phrase later used in an eMail he sent me. As such 'Arcadia' has always had a special meaning for me, well beyond it's original meaning in that context.
As I do not think much of any garden Eden like constructs, however, I wanted to make it very clear that the nation would have nothing to do with anything that serene. It is an Eden, but only for those who think as we do. As far as I'm concerned, the nation's prefix denotes this well enough.
I tego arcana dei.
